DOMU (CORDOBA)

IT IS AN ASIAN FOOD RESTAURANT, WHERE THROUGH THE FUSION OF FLAVORS, AROMAS, SOUNDS, MATERIALS, SHAPES, TEXTURES, LIGHTING, SERVICE AND ATMOSPHERE, IT BECOMES AN UNIMAGINABLE AND PLEASANT EXPERIENCE FOR DINERS.

Inspired by Asian elements such as the ancient Chinese abacuses, represented in large-scale wooden circles, which rotate and moderate the view inwards, making the space more welcoming, but without limiting the entry of natural air.

AN INTERESTING PARAMETRIC FURNITURE RECEIVES THE GUEST, GIVING THE FUNCTION OF A WAITING BENCH, BECOMING THE RECEPTION FURNITURE AND EXTENDING TO FORM THE SUSHI BAR.

A job that was carried out partly with laser cutting and partly manually, designing piece by piece, all of them different from each other, until they were meticulously assembled and achieved this incredible organic shape. Behind this sculptural piece of furniture, a cement wall with perfectly illuminated holes artistically displays different types of sushi, creating a decorative element, but at the same time illuminating the space.

The mysticism and sobriety of DOMU is achieved through elements such as the black and white terrazzo floor handcrafted on site, the polished cement or corten steel type walls that are repeated in various spaces, its imposing zebra marble bar, in which its marked betas appear to have movement and the wood burned on purpose giving an aged appearance and with its extraordinary ceiling that seems to be clouds or mist that travel through the place, from which spheres of light emerge that bathe and highlight its texture and shapes.

The bathrooms are a surprise element for the user, due to their huge doors of charred wood, walls intervened with Asian paintings by Lourdes Calatayud that surround some huge vessels, from which when passing the hand near, a jet of water suddenly appears that falls inside, serving as sinks.
